Community Organizing

Helping family recover

Special thanks to the community for going above and beyond for the Rodriguez family in West Lawn as we surpassed the GoFundMe goal to help them reinvest in their small business.

operation save Mayfield

From simply seeing a Facebook post that mentioned the Huizar family collecting items and helping a families in need, to reaching out to the family and offering my assistance and in a matter of minutes, bringing this relief effort to life.
My experience volunteering and coordinating with a Dallas, Texas initiative earlier in 2021 February gave me the knowledge and opportunity to organize this relief effort on a larger scale and so we did, together as a community, three semi trailers filled with essentials, waters, clothing, hygiene products, sanitizers, non perishable food items and so much more to families.
Special thanks to the amazing heroes and truck drivers, Hector Martinez, Dario Serna, Manuel Corral and Romualdo for volunteering to drive over 700 miles to bring much needed supplies and food to families in Mayfield and beyond.
Thank you to all the wonderful and phenomenal volunteers, donors, the EC Dry Cleaning Noelia, Samuel and family for coordinating and being a huge blessing to the community for opening your doors going above and beyond. This was a team effort and everyone had their piece to puzzle, whether it was small or big, it all made this initiative possible.
I appreciate you Yesenia Huizar, Cassandra Huizar, and Celene Huizar for advocating and telling your story to the community as we all felt the impact and emotions from Mayfield. Thank you so much for opening your hearts to us. I’m looking forward to our next project together as there is much more work to do. #MayfieldSTRONG #communitymatters
